Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a General Legal Practitioner to join a fully remote practice serving individuals and businesses from East London and beyond. You will handle a broad range of legal matters, including family law, wills and estates, commercial disputes, and civil litigation, while autonomously managing your own caseload and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a general practitioner or in a similar broad legal role.
• Demonstrated experience across multiple areas of law (e.g., family, property, commercial, litigation).
• Strong client management and communication skills, suitable for remote interaction.
• Proficiency in legal research and drafting, with a keen attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and representation in diverse areas including family law, wills and estates, and civil litigation.
• Draft legal documents such as contracts, affidavits, wills, and pleadings.
• Manage client cases from inception through to resolution, including court appearances where necessary.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
• Maintain accurate client records and manage billing processes efficiently.
• Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with clients.
