Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Stormwater Management Engineer for a remote-first role connected to our team near Benoni, Gauteng. You will lead planning, design, and implementation of advanced stormwater systems, focusing on flood mitigation and SuDS.

You bring a Civil Engineering degree, Pr Eng, 8+ years, and proficiency in SWMM, HEC-RAS, InfoWorks ICM, and AutoCAD Civil 3D, plus strong leadership and communication to mentor staff and interface with clients and regulators.

Competenze

• BEng/BSc or MEng/MSc in Civil Engineering with specialization in Water Resources or Hydrology
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is required
• Minimum 8 years of experience in stormwater management and hydraulic engineering
• Proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic modeling software SWMM, HEC-RAS, InfoWorks ICM, AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Strong understanding of SA water management policies, standards and environmental legislation
• Experience applying Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Proven ability to manage projects independently and lead remote teams

Mansioni

• Lead design and development of stormwater plans and systems including detention/retention basins, swales, and infiltration systems
• Perform hydrological and hydraulic modeling to assess flood risk and water quality impacts
• Develop designs for urban drainage infrastructure and related hydraulic structures
• Ensure compliance with national and municipal stormwater regulations and standards
• Manage project scopes, budgets, and schedules
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and prepare detailed reports and tender documentation
• Stay updated on trends and technologies in stormwater management and SuDS
