About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous Remote Exploration Data Manager to oversee the integrity, organization, and accessibility of all geological and exploration data. Working exclusively remotely, you will be responsible for implementing and managing data management systems, ensuring that data is captured accurately, stored securely, and readily available for analysis by exploration teams. This crucial role supports effective decision-making in mineral exploration by providing reliable and well-structured data, enabling geologists and geochemists to conduct their work efficiently from anywhere. This is an ideal position for an organized and technically proficient individual who excels in managing complex data environments remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain exploration data management systems and databases.
• Establish and enforce data standards, protocols, and quality control procedures for geological data.
• Oversee the collection, validation, storage, and archiving of all exploration data (e.g., drillhole data, assay results, survey data, geological maps).
• Provide training and support to exploration personnel on data management tools and best practices.
• Collaborate with IT and GIS specialists to ensure seamless data integration and accessibility.
• Generate regular data quality reports and manage data security and backup procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in geological data management, preferably within the mineral exploration industry.
• Proficiency with geological databases (e.g., acQuire, Datashed) and GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
• Strong understanding of geological terminology and exploration workflows.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in data handling.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively in a remote work environment.
