Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Environmental Scientist to support mining operations from anywhere, ensuring environmental compliance and sustainable practices. You will assess impacts, develop mitigation plans, and advise on regulatory requirements with on-site teams and regulators via remote channels.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Environmental Science or related field.
6+ years in environmental management in mining.
Experience with EIAs and EMPs.
Strong report writing and remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Conduct EIAs for mining projects.
Develop and implement EMPs and monitoring programs.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
Provide guidance on waste management, water quality, biodiversity, and rehabilitation.
Review reports and audit findings, recommending corrective actions.
Coordinate with project teams, regulators and communities remotely.
