Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Environmental Scientist to join its remote compliance team, focusing on the mining sector. The role is fully remote, with flexibility to work from home while contributing to environmental impact assessments, monitoring, and mitigation strategies.

The candidate will help ensure operations meet environmental regulations and sustainability standards, leveraging data analysis, reporting, and remote audits to support responsible mining practices on a global scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental consulting or management, preferably within the mining industry.
• In-depth knowledge of environmental legislation and permitting processes.
• Experience with environmental monitoring techniques and data analysis.
• Strong report writing and presentation skills, with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively remotely.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental impact assessments and develop mitigation plans for mining projects.
• Monitor environmental performance indicators and ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
• Develop and implement environmental management systems and protocols.
• Prepare environmental reports, permit applications, and compliance documentation.
• Advise on best practices for waste management, water treatment, and biodiversity conservation in mining areas.
• Conduct remote site assessments and audits using available data and technologies.
