Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Environmental Engineer to support nationwide projects from a remote location, with travel to Upington, Northern Cape as needed. You will lead EIAs, develop EMPs, and guide clients on regulatory compliance across mining, industrial, and infrastructure sectors.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering (or Civil with an Environmental focus) and has strong GIS and environmental modeling skills, plus 6+ years in environmental consulting.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in environmental/engineering field required.
• Strong knowledge of SA environmental legislation (NEMA, MPRDA) is essential.
• Experience in EIAs, EMPs, remediation, and reporting is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct EIAs and compile reports.
• Develop and implement EMPs for projects.
• Perform site investigations including soil and water sampling.
• Oversee remediation and rehabilitation projects.
• Advise on permitting, compliance and legislation.
