Placements24 seeks an Environmental Civil Engineer to join a fully remote team serving South Africa, with focus near Mossel Bay, Western Cape. You will manage environmental aspects of civil projects, conduct EIAs/EMPRs and develop EMPs to ensure sustainable, compliant design and implementation.

The role requires a BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering and 7+ years in environmental management for civil infrastructure, with strong communication and remote-work capability.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering with environmental focus.
• Professional registration with ECSA, SACNASP advantageous.
• 7+ years in environmental management for civil projects.
• Experience with EIAs and EMPs and SA environmental laws.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for remote collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple projects remotely and travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental planning and EIAs/EMPRs for civil projects.
• Develop EMPs for construction and operations.
• Monitor compliance with environmental legislation and commitments.
• Liaise with DEFF and provincial regulators on environmental matters.
• Advise on erosion control, waste management, water protection.
• Conduct site audits and environmental performance reviews.
• Prepare environmental reports and compliance audits.
• Collaborate with clients, engineers and contractors remotely.
