Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an astute Energy Trader to join a remote trading desk, coordinated with the Centurion team. You will optimize the energy portfolio by executing trades across electricity, natural gas, and derivatives, while managing risk and developing strategies in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

The role demands a strong background in energy markets, quantitative analysis, and proven trading experience, with excellent communication under pressure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of experience in energy trading, commodity trading, or financial markets.
• Proven track record of successful trading in electricity or natural gas markets.
• Strong analytical and quantitative abilities; proficiency in financial modeling.
• Deep understanding of derivatives, futures, and options pricing.

Responsibilities

• Monitor global energy markets and news, identifying trading opportunities in real-time.
• Develop and execute short-term and long-term trading strategies for energy commodities.
• Manage trading positions, P&L, and exposure within approved risk limits.
• Analyze market data, price trends, and economic factors to forecast market movements.
• Collaborate with risk management and analytics teams to refine trading strategies and models.
• Maintain accurate trading records and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
