Placements24 is seeking an Energy Trading Analyst for a fully remote role. You will analyze global energy markets, identify trading opportunities, and support the trading desk with data and insights. A strong quantitative background and expertise in market dynamics are essential.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in energy market analysis or trading support, advanced Excel (VBA), Python or R, and SQL. Master's is a plus; you will work independently in a fast-paced, global environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related quantitative field; master's preferred.
• Minimum 4 years in energy market analysis, trading support, or financial analysis within the energy sector.
• Proven experience in quantitative analysis, financial modeling, and statistical forecasting.
• Proficiency with Excel (advanced), VBA, Python/R, and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Analyze global energy commodity markets to identify price trends and trading opportunities.
• Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to forecast market movements and assess risk.
• Provide real-time market intelligence, commentary, and recommendations to the trading desk.
• Monitor news, geopolitical events, and economic indicators that may impact energy prices.
• Collaborate with traders and risk management teams to execute trading strategies and manage positions.
