Placements24, a Randburg-based client, seeks an Educational Psychologist with a strong focus on child development. You will conduct assessments, diagnose learning and behavioral needs, and design tailored interventions for children; remote consultations to families and schools.

The role requires 5+ years post-qualification, HPCSA registration, and expertise in CBT and play therapy. You will work independently, manage a caseload, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, delivering reports

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Educational Psychology or Clinical Psychology with a child development focus.
• Registered as Educational Psychologist with HPCSA or equivalent professional body.
• Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience with children/adolescents.
• Expertise in child psychopathology, developmental disorders, and learning difficulties.
• Proficiency in administering and interpreting a wide range of psychological assessments.
• Strong therapeutic skills in evidence-based interventions (e.g., CBT, play therapy).
• Excellent report writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Reliable internet connection and a suitable home office; experience with telehealth.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently.
• Familiarity with Randburg educational services is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments using psychometric tools.
• Diagnose learning disabilities, developmental delays, behavioral disorders, and emotional challenges.
• Develop and implement tailored intervention and treatment plans.
• Provide individual and group therapy sessions (CBT, play therapy).
• Consult with parents, teachers, and professionals to support the child.
• Prepare detailed psychological reports with findings and recommendations.
• Offer psycho-educational guidance to families and schools.
