Placements24 seeks a remote Project Manager to lead e‑commerce platform development, overseeing ideation, design, development, testing and launch while coordinating with product, design, development and marketing teams across a distributed setup.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management with focus on e-commerce and digital product development.
• Proven experience managing web development projects (front-end and back-end).
• Strong understanding of e-commerce best practices, UX principles and online marketing.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and tools like Jira, Asana or Trello.
• Excellent communication, leadership and remote team management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end lifecycle of e-commerce platform development and enhancements.
• Define scope, objectives, deliverables and success criteria with product owners and stakeholders.
• Develop detailed project plans with timelines, resources, budget and risk mitigation.
• Lead cross-functional teams of developers, designers, QA and marketing in a remote setting.
• Ensure integration of new features and third-party services into the platform.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and implement proactive solutions.
• Adhere to web accessibility, POPIA data privacy and security best practices.
• Facilitate collaboration among remote team members using digital tools.
• Manage budgets and ensure efficient resource use.
• Conduct post-launch reviews and drive continuous improvement.
