Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Drilling Fluids Engineer to join a globally distributed team. The role supports Centurion and surrounding regions with a strong remote connection to operational sites.

You will design, implement, and optimize drilling fluid programs, monitor properties, and provide remote technical support. Requires 6+ years in drilling fluids, degree in Engineering, and knowledge of rheology and additives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Petroleum, or Mechanical) or related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in drilling fluids engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of drilling fluid chemistry, rheology, and additives.
• Experience with drilling fluid simulation and reporting software.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage responsibilities effectively in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage drilling fluid programs tailored to specific well objectives and geological conditions.
• Monitor fluid properties, analyze performance data, and recommend adjustments to maintain wellbore stability and drilling efficiency.
• Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting for drilling fluid-related issues encountered during operations.
• Oversee the procurement, inventory, and logistics of drilling fluid additives and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards related to drilling fluid management.
