Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Remote Delivery Route Planner to optimize our delivery network in South Africa. You will design efficient routes for our drivers, leveraging routing software to minimize costs while ensuring timely deliveries across service areas including East London.

You will collaborate with dispatch and drivers, analyze performance data, and stay informed about traffic and road conditions.

Qualifications

Proven experience in route planning, logistics coordination, or dispatch.
Proficiency with route optimization software (RouteXL, OptimoRoute).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent understanding of geographical areas and traffic patterns.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Strong communication with operational teams.

Responsibilities

Plan and optimize daily delivery routes for multiple drivers, considering distance, traffic, and delivery windows.
Utilize routing software and mapping tools to create efficient schedules.
Analyze route performance data and identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
Communicate route plans and adjustments clearly to dispatchers and drivers.
Stay informed about traffic conditions, road closures, and factors affecting delivery times.
Collaborate with logistics management to implement best practices in route optimization.
