Qualifications

About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking technology company specializing in last-mile delivery solutions, is seeking a highly analytical and motivated Remote Delivery Operations Analyst . This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa, though a strong understanding of regional logistics challenges is beneficial. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing complex delivery data, identifying inefficiencies, and recommending strategic improvements to optimize our national delivery network. This role is critical for enhancing operational performance, reducing costs, and improving the overall customer experience in the competitive delivery market.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets related to delivery routes, driver performance, delivery times, and customer feedback.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to visualize key operational metrics and trends for stakeholders.
• Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the delivery process and propose data-driven solutions.
• Conduct A/B testing on new operational strategies or technologies to measure their impact.
• Collaborate with regional operations managers and delivery teams to implement process improvements and best practices.
• Monitor delivery performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular performance summaries.
• Research industry best practices and emerging trends in delivery logistics to inform strategic decision-making.
• Assist in forecasting demand and optimizing resource allocation (e.g., driver capacity, vehicle utilization).
• Develop models to predict delivery times and identify potential risks or delays.
• Document operational procedures and provide training materials for remote teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Logistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience (3+ years) as an operations analyst, data analyst, or in a similar analytical role within logistics or a related industry.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Python (Pandas, NumPy), R, or similar.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into actionable business insights.
• Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain principles, particularly last-mile delivery.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable presenting findings to diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively in a remote setting.
• Experience with statistical modeling and forecasting techniques is highly desirable.
