Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist for a fully remote role focused on mining data analytics. You will develop and deploy ML models for maintenance, production optimization, and resource estimation, while analyzing diverse datasets from geology, sensors, and operations.

The role emphasizes collaboration with geologists and engineers, dashboard creation, and ensuring data quality and security in a remote-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related quantitative field.
• 5+ years as a Data Scientist with a strong project portfolio.
• Proficiency in Python or R and libraries like pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch.
• Experience with big data tech (Spark, Hadoop) and SQL databases.
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling, ML, and data mining; experience with time-series & geospatial data is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, train, and deploy ML models for predictive maintenance, production optimization, and resource estimation.
• Analyze large-scale datasets from geological surveys, sensor data, operational logs, and financial reports.
• Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies to provide actionable insights.
• Design dashboards to communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and metallurgists to define analytical problems.
