Job summary

IQVIA is seeking a Data Acquisition Specialist for External Data (Remote/Homebased) in South Africa. You will define, set up and ingest External Data Streams for clinical trials, including ECG, biomarkers, EHR and wearables.

You will liaise with data providers, draft tsDTA documents and ensure data transfer aligns with study timelines and regulatory standards. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years in clinical data management, SDTM knowledge, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Computer Science.
• At least 3 years' experience managing data in clinical research.
• Experience with external data sources (Safety Lab, PK, ECG etc).
• Experience with external data providers in a clinical study setting.
• Experience developing data transfer agreements.
• Experience working on clinical trials.
• Experience working in diverse cross‑functional, global teams.
• Knowledge of SDTM.
• Working knowledge of GCP/ICH guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Execute deliverables for Standardized External Data Streams.
• Assess external data collection requirements per protocol and plan setup activities.
• Liaise with data stakeholders for transfer, ingestion, and structure of data per data stream.
• Create change requests for new data concepts or structures.
• Develop trial-specific data transfer agreements documenting requirements.
• Ensure data transfer frequencies meet study needs.
• Liaise with external data providers for tsDTA alignment.
• Translate medical concepts into data mapping guidance for clinical programmers.
• UAT of test data transfers to ensure alignment with data specs.
