Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst to join the security team. The role supports operations remotely with a base around the Queenstown area, focusing on identifying, analyzing, and disseminating threat intelligence to counter cyber threats.

The candidate will research threat actors, TTPs, and provide actionable intelligence to strengthen defenses and incident response, with a strong emphasis on analytical and writing skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, International Relations, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in threat intelligence, cybersecurity analysis, or a related security role.
• Proficiency with threat intel platforms and tools.
• Strong understanding of cyber threat actors, TTPs, and attack methodologies.
• Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect, process, and analyze threat intelligence data from various open-source and proprietary feeds.
• Research and profile threat actors, campaigns, and malware to understand their motivations and capabilities.
• Develop intelligence reports and briefings for different audiences, including technical teams and senior leadership.
• Provide timely alerts on emerging threats and vulnerabilities relevant to the organization's industry and infrastructure.
• Contribute to threat hunting methodologies and detection strategies.
• Collaborate with internal security teams to operationalize threat intelligence and improve incident response.
