Placements24 is partnering with a forward-thinking specialty insurer to recruit a Remote Cyber Insurance Underwriter. You will assess and price cyber risk, including data breach liability, cyber liability, and technology errors & omissions, for clients across industries in a remote-first setup.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of underwriting experience, with at least 3 years in cyber, deep knowledge of cyber threats and data privacy regulations, and excellent communication for collaboration

Qualifications

• At least 5 years in underwriting, with 3+ years in cyber insurance.
• Deep knowledge of cyber threats, IT security, and data privacy laws (GDPR/POPIA).
• Strong pricing, analytics, and remote collaboration skills; CCSP/CRISC/CISSP a plus.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and price cyber policies including data breach and tech E&O.
• Assess risk using applicant data, financials, and IT security posture.
• Build broker/agent relationships as cyber risk SME.
• Apply underwriting guidelines, regulations, and company appetite.
• Negotiate terms and pricing with brokers for profitability.
• Monitor portfolio performance and identify emerging risks.
• Collaborate with claims, legal, and IT security teams.
• Stay current with cyber threats and best practices.
• Contribute to cyber underwriting strategy and product development.
• Provide training to junior underwriters.
