Placements24 is seeking an experienced In-House Counsel to join a remote-first legal team supporting the development, financing, and execution of large-scale energy projects across South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. You will draft and negotiate EPC/O&M/PPAs, advise on regulatory compliance, and navigate disputes from a remote location.

The ideal candidate holds SA Admitted Attorney status with 8+ years’ post-qualification experience in project finance, infrastructure, or energy law, and can

Qualifications

• Must be an Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with 8+ years post-qualification experience.
• Strong background in project finance, infrastructure development or energy law.
• Proven ability to draft and negotiate complex energy sector contracts.
• Solid understanding of SA energy regulations and environmental laws.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate EPC,°O&M, and PPAs and other complex contracts.
• Counsel on project development, financing, and implementation.
• Provide regulatory compliance guidance for energy sector matters.
• Perform due diligence for new project opportunities and assess risks.
• Manage disputes including litigation/arbitration and liaise with external counsel.
