About the Role

Our client, a leading cybersecurity firm specializing in blockchain technology, is seeking a dedicated and insightful Remote Blockchain Security Analyst. This is a fully remote, full-time position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities, conducting security audits, and ensuring the integrity of blockchain networks and decentralized applications. Your expertise will be crucial in protecting our client's and their clients' assets from emerging threats in the crypto and blockchain space. This role requires a proactive approach to security and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive security audits and penetration testing on smart contracts, dApps, and blockchain protocols.
• Analyze transaction patterns and network activity to detect and respond to security incidents.
• Develop and implement security best practices and guidelines for blockchain development and operations.
• Investigate and report on newly discovered vulnerabilities and exploits within the blockchain ecosystem.
• Collaborate with development teams to remediate security findings and implement necessary patches.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience (3+ years) in cybersecurity, with a strong focus on blockchain security.
• In-depth knowledge of common smart contract vulnerabilities (e.g., reentrancy, integer overflow/underflow).
• Experience with security analysis tools and frameworks for blockchain applications.
• Familiarity with various blockchain protocols and consensus mechanisms.
• Proficiency in one or more smart contract programming languages (e.g., Solidity).
• Understanding of network security principles and cryptography.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
