Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Blockchain Security Analyst in Sandton, Gauteng to identify and mitigate security threats in blockchain networks and dApps. The role involves in-depth security assessments, vulnerability analysis, and guiding secure development practices.

You will analyze smart contracts, monitor networks for breaches, and collaborate with developers to remediate issues, while staying current with industry trends and tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Security Analyst, Penetration Tester, or similar role focused on blockchain technologies.
• Strong understanding of blockchain fundamentals, consensus mechanisms and cryptography.
• Experience analyzing smart contracts for vulnerabilities (e.g., reentrancy, overflow/underflow).
• Proficiency with security testing tools and methodologies.
• Familiarity with blockchain platforms (Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana).
• Knowledge of cybersecurity threats and mitigation techniques.
• Strong communication and report-writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a hybrid environment.
• Relevant certifications (CEH, CISSP) are advantageous.
