Placements24 is seeking a Senior Blockchain Security Analyst to join our client’s specialized team in Stellenbosch. The role focuses on conducting in-depth security assessments of blockchain protocols, smart contracts, and decentralized applications to identify vulnerabilities and mitigate risks.

You will collaborate with development teams to implement security best practices, prepare detailed security reports for clients, and stay ahead of emerging blockchain threats.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field is required.
• Minimum 5+ years in cybersecurity with at least 3 years in blockchain security.
• Strong knowledge of blockchain technologies, smart contracts (Solidity) and cryptography.

About the Role

Our client, a leader in securing digital assets and blockchain technologies, is seeking an experienced Senior Blockchain Security Analyst to join their specialized team. This critical role, located in Stellenbosch, Western Cape , will involve conducting in-depth security assessments of blockchain protocols, smart contracts, and decentralized applications. You will play a pivotal role in identifying vulnerabilities, mitigating risks, and ensuring the overall security posture of our clients within the Crypto & Blockchain space. Key Responsibilities

• Perform security audits and penetration testing on blockchain platforms and smart contracts.
• Analyze smart contract code for vulnerabilities and potential exploits.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3 years focused on blockchain security.
• Deep understanding of blockchain technologies, smart contract development (Solidity), and cryptography.
• Proficiency in security assessment tools and techniques for smart contracts and blockchain networks.
• Experience with penetration testing and vulnerability analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex security issues.
• Knowledge of common smart contract vulnerabilities (e.g., reentrancy, overflow/underflow, access control issues).
• Familiarity with DeFi protocols and associated security risks.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH) are a plus.
