Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a motivated Research Scientist in Biochemistry to join a globally distributed, fully remote team advancing therapeutic discovery. You design biochemical assays, analyze data, and collaborate with scientists worldwide to study protein function and enzymatic mechanisms.

PhD required with 3–5 years postdoctoral or industry experience; expertise in protein purification and assay development is essential. Excellent communication and publishing capabilities are expected.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Molecular Biology, or related field.
• 3–5 years post-doc or industry research experience required.
• Extensive protein purification, characterization, and enzymology experience.
• Experience with assay development (SPR, ITC, fluorescence-based).
• Strong data analysis skills and ability to present findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize biochemical/biophysical assays for protein‑ligand interactions and enzymes.
• Purify and characterize proteins using chromatography and electrophoresis.
• Develop and validate high‑throughput assays for drug candidates.
• Analyze data with statistical methods and software; present results clearly.
• Collaborate with computational biologists and medicinal chemists to guide strategies.
