Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Research Associate to join a biochemistry research team and conduct experiments remotely with Upington focus. You will perform biochemical assays, assist in protein purification, and contribute to ongoing projects in enzyme kinetics and metabolic pathways.

Collaborating with senior scientists, you will maintain detailed lab notebooks, analyze data, and help prepare research reports while ensuring equipment and inventory are well managed in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology or related field.
• Hands-on lab experience in biochemistry or molecular biology.
• Experience with spectrophotometry, chromatography and electrophoresis.
• Strong experimental design and detailed record keeping.
• Ability to work remotely with strict protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform biochemical assays, including enzyme activity measurements.
• Assist purification and characterization of proteins using chromatography.
• Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and records.
• Contribute to data analysis and preparation of research reports.
• Support lab inventory and ensure equipment is in good working order.
