Placements24 is seeking a Backend Software Developer specializing in API integration to join a distributed engineering team. This remote-first role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining robust APIs and backend services that connect various systems across the stack.

The ideal candidate has strong programming skills with a deep understanding of API design principles and remote collaboration in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency in at least one modern backend language (Python/Node.js/Java/C#).
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and data modeling.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement secure, scalable RESTful APIs.
• Build and maintain backend services that integrate with third-party apps and internal systems.
• Write clean, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code in Python, Node.js, or Java.
• Collaborate with frontend, product, and other stakeholders in a remote agile environment.
• Optimize application performance, database queries, and system architecture for efficiency.
