Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Remote Automotive Software Architect to guide the software architecture for next-generation automotive systems, including ADAS, autonomous driving, and connected car technologies. You will influence design decisions, standards, and the scalability and security of complex platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software development with at least 5 years in architectural/lead roles within automotive.
• Extensive experience designing real-time embedded automotive systems.
• Deep understanding of SDLC, Agile, and CI/CD.
• Proficiency in C++, Java, Python and architectural design patterns.
• Familiarity with automotive protocols (CAN, Ethernet, SOME/IP) and middleware (ROS, AUTOSAR).
• Experience with ADAS, autonomous driving, or connected car technologies.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 26262 and automotive cybersecurity.
• Excellent remote communication and collaboration across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Define and document the overall software architecture for automotive ECUs and vehicle systems.
• Lead the design of software components, interfaces, and data models for interoperability.
• Establish and enforce coding standards, design patterns, and development methodologies.
• Collaborate with systems/hardware teams and product managers to translate requirements into solutions.
• Evaluate and select technologies, frameworks, and tools for automotive software development.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.
• Conduct architectural reviews, code inspections, and performance analyses.
• Identify risks in the software development lifecycle and propose mitigations.
• Contribute to technology roadmap and strategic direction for automotive software.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and cybersecurity in remote environments.
