Placements24 is seeking a talented Remote Automotive Electrical Systems Engineer to design, develop, and validate complex electrical systems for future vehicle generations. This fully remote role, tied to Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal, offers exposure to electrification and advanced vehicle features through cross‑functional teams worldwide.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred), 6+ years in automotive electrical systems, and strong CAD/tool

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or related field; Masters preferred.
• Minimum 6 years in automotive electrical systems engineering.
• Proficiency with CAD tools (Mentor Graphics, Zuken E3.series) and simulation software.
• Knowledge of CAN, LIN and Ethernet protocols; AUTOSAR a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automotive electrical system architectures, including power distribution, wiring harnesses, and grounding strategies.
• Define requirements for electrical components, sensors, actuators, and ECUs.
• Perform electrical system simulations and analyses (EMC, transient analysis).
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
• Develop and execute test plans for electrical systems and components validation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues during development and production phases.
• Create and maintain detailed electrical schematics, design documentation, and BOMs.
• Stay current with advancements in automotive electrical technology, industry standards, and best practices.
• Work closely with suppliers to ensure component quality and timely delivery.
