Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Assistant Financial Manager for a Pretoria-based property development firm. The role is remote and focuses on supporting financial statements, reconciliations, budgeting, and analysis.

You will work with the Financial Manager, ensure GAAP/IFRS compliance, and use Pastel, QuickBooks, and Excel.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance and 2–4 years of experience; SAIPA/ACCA Level II is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Professional qualification (e.g., SAIPA, ACCA Level II) is advantageous.
• 2–4 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, GAAP/IFRS knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Financial Manager in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes and reconciliations.
• Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations.
• Assist with budget preparation and forecasting.
• Conduct financial analysis, including variance analysis and trend reporting.
• Support year-end audit by preparing schedules and documentation.
• Process journal entries and maintain accounting system accuracy.
• Contribute to internal controls development and ad-hoc reporting.
