Job summary

Placements24 is offering a paid internship for a Junior Architectural Assistant to work remotely from Mossel Bay, Western Cape. The role focuses on supporting design and documentation, with hands-on experience across project stages from concept to detail.

You will assist senior architects with CAD and BIM tasks, prepare sketches and renderings, and contribute to material and codes research. The program provides mentorship and flexible scheduling to accommodate studies.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or diploma in Architecture or Architectural Technology.
• Basic proficiency in AutoCAD; exposure to Revit preferred.
• Strong interest in architectural design and construction principles.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior architects and technologists with drafting and drawing production using CAD and BIM software.
• Help prepare presentation materials, including sketches, renderings, and physical models (where applicable remotely).
• Conduct research on building materials, codes, and project-specific information as directed.
• Support the documentation process by organizing and managing project files and drawings.
• Participate in team meetings, contributing ideas and learning from discussions.
• Gain practical experience in various project stages, from concept development to detailed design.
