Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Remote Appliance Repair Technician to join our service team. You will provide expert remote diagnostics and troubleshooting for a wide range of home appliances, guiding customers through steps and dispatching on-site technicians when needed.

Based in your designated location, you will handle remote support and occasional hands-on visits in the Kimberley area for critical cases or training, ensuring prompt, clear communication and high customer satisfaction.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and customer-oriented Remote Appliance Repair Technician to join their service team. This role involves providing expert remote diagnostics and troubleshooting for a wide range of home appliances, guiding clients through simple repair steps, and dispatching on-site technicians for more complex issues. While the core of the role is remote support from your designated location, occasional hands-on work may be required within the Kimberley area for critical cases or training purposes. You will be the first point of contact for customers experiencing appliance issues, ensuring they receive prompt and effective support, contributing to customer satisfaction and efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide remote diagnostic support for malfunctioning appliances (refrigerators, ovens, washing machines, etc.).
• Guide customers through troubleshooting steps and basic repair procedures via phone or video call.
• Determine the appropriate course of action, whether remote resolution, scheduling an on-site visit, or ordering parts.
• Accurately document customer interactions, diagnostic findings, and service recommendations.
• Dispatch and coordinate with on-site technicians for necessary repair visits.
• Maintain a knowledge base of common appliance issues and repair solutions.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Appliance Repair Technician or in a related technical service role.
• Strong understanding of various home appliance types, their components, and common failure modes.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
