Job summary

SkillsGro is seeking a Business Development & Solutions Executive to drive new business in South Africa, building client relationships and turning business challenges into AI-assisted prototypes. You will lead discovery, translate requirements into tech solutions and manage proposals through bids.

Qualifications

• Approximately 6-9 years' experience in technology sales, business development, technical pre-sales, bid management or consulting with meaningful commercial exposure.
• Proven experience generating new business through outbound prospecting and managing opportunities through the sales pipeline.
• Strong experience with competitive RFP/RFI responses, proposals or bid management.
• Advanced, hands-on experience with AI-assisted development and prototyping tools, such as Claude, Cursor, v0 or similar platforms.
• The ability to build functional prototypes and communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and commercial audiences.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong commercial judgement, organisation and follow-through.
• Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and managing opportunities independently.

Responsibilities

• Drive new business through outbound prospecting and pipeline development.
• Lead discovery conversations to understand client challenges and translate them into technology solutions.
• Oversee RFP/RFI responses, proposals and bid management to close opportunities.
• Develop interactive AI-assisted prototypes to demonstrate commercial value to clients.
• Manage CRM records, monitor pipeline progress and report on opportunities.
