Job summary

Jobgether, on behalf of a partner company, seeks an AI/ML & Forward Deployed Engineer based in South Africa. You will design, build, and deploy high-impact AI solutions spanning GenAI, NLP, forecasting, and anomaly detection from concept to production.

You'll combine software engineering with ML, MLOps/LLMOps, and scalable architectures using Docker, Kubernetes, REST/gRPC APIs, and data governance to deliver secure, observable, and reliable AI products for diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in Machine Learning and AI/ML Engineering.
• Advanced Python development and deep learning experience.
• Experience with NLP, forecasting, and anomaly detection.
• Proven GenAI application development using LLMs and RAG architectures.
• Understanding of embeddings, retrieval tuning, and prompt engineering.
• Solid knowledge of MLOps/LLMOps across the AI lifecycle.
• Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD for production deployments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy ML/AI solutions from PoC to production.
• Build models and apps covering DL, NLP, forecasting, classification, regression, anomaly detection.
• Develop GenAI apps using LLMs, RAG, embeddings, retrieval optimization, and prompt engineering.
• Create AI evaluation frameworks for quality, reliability, and performance.
• Develop scalable AI services via REST and gRPC APIs and event-driven architectures.
• Institute MLOps/LLMOps practices across deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Containerize and orchestrate AI apps with Docker and Kubernetes in CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement model monitoring, drift detection, and continuous improvement processes.
• Ensure governance, security, data quality, RBAC, encryption, and auditability.
