Job summary

Datafin is seeking an AI Operations & Strategy Engineer to lead AI strategy in a fast-paced Agile environment. This pivotal role involves optimizing AI infrastructure, driving AI governance, and collaborating across teams to enhance AI initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in AI or ML and strong problem-solving abilities. Must be a permanent resident of South Africa and able to work remotely.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst, AI Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, or similar role.
• Strong English language proficiency.
• Authorized to work in South Africa (permanent resident status).
• Must be able to work remotely (South Africa-based).

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain a centralized prompt repository.
• Monitor token usage and optimize for ROI across AI providers.
• Implement evaluation metrics to ensure AI accuracy.
• Train teams on the responsible usage of AI tools.
• Research and recommend new AI models and integrations.
• Produce high-quality documentation covering AI frameworks.
• Participate in engineering discussions and provide AI expertise.
