Placements24 is seeking a Remote AI Ethics & Compliance Specialist to join a globally distributed team. You will develop and implement AI ethics policies, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with worldwide regulations, while fostering accountability across projects and teams.

The role emphasizes governance, training, and collaboration with legal, engineering, and product teams, enabling responsible innovation from anywhere.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in Law, Ethics, Public Policy, Computer Science, or related with a focus on AI ethics.
• 3+ years in AI ethics, responsible AI, data privacy, or regulatory compliance.
• Deep understanding of ethical AI principles, fairness metrics, bias detection, and explainability techniques.
• Familiarity with global AI regulations and data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, AI Act proposals).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ethical and legal concepts clearly.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
• Experience in developing and delivering training materials.
• A genuine passion for ensuring AI technologies benefit society ethically and responsibly.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive AI ethics policies, guidelines, and best practices across the organization.
• Conduct ethical risk assessments and impact analyses for new AI projects and features.
• Monitor AI systems for potential biases, fairness issues, and unintended consequences, recommending mitigation strategies.
• Stay updated on evolving AI regulations, legal frameworks, and industry standards globally.
• Collaborate with legal, engineering, and product teams to ensure AI solutions are developed and deployed ethically and compliantly.
• Develop and deliver training programs on AI ethics and responsible AI practices to internal stakeholders.
• Manage external communications and engagements related to AI ethics and compliance.
• Advocate for ethical AI principles and foster a culture of responsible innovation throughout the company.
• Contribute to the development of internal audit processes for AI systems.
