Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dynamic Project Manager for a fully remote contract role focused on deploying agritech solutions across South Africa. You will lead projects from pilot to scale, coordinating with R&D, field operations, farmers, and tech partners to deliver measurable improvements in crop management and yields.

Ideal candidates have a background in agriculture or technology, strong PM skills, and fluency with IoT devices, data analytics, and relevant software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in agriculture or technology sectors.
• Demonstrated experience managing technology deployment projects.
• Familiarity with IoT devices, data analytics, and software applications relevant to agriculture.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Trello, Asana).
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively in a fully remote setting.
• Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including farmers and technical experts.

Responsibilities

• Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of agricultural technology projects from pilot phases to full deployment.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success metrics with R&D and field operations teams.
• Develop detailed project schedules, resource plans, and budgets.
• Coordinate activities between internal technical teams, field staff, farmers, and external technology partners.
• Identify and mitigate project risks to ensure smooth implementation and adoption of new technologies.
• Monitor progress, track milestones, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Ensure solutions meet the needs of farmers and agricultural operations.
• Facilitate training sessions and provide user support for agritech solutions.
• Document project processes, outcomes, and lessons learned.
• Foster strong working relationships with all stakeholders.
