Placements24 is seeking a Remote Agricultural Data Analyst to support operations for Cape Town area clients. You will work with large datasets, build predictive models, and translate findings into actionable insights for farming partners.

The role emphasizes data integrity, scalable analytics, clear visualizations, and collaboration with agronomists and farm managers to improve yields, resource use, and sustainability, all from a flexible remote setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Agriculture, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Analyst, preferably in agriculture.
• Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn) or R.
• Experience with SQL and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and process large volumes of agricultural data from sensors, satellite imagery, and farm systems.
• Develop and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms to analyze trends and forecast outcomes.
• Create clear data visualizations, reports, and dashboards for stakeholders with varying technical backgrounds.
• Collaborate with agronomists and farm managers to understand data needs and provide analytics support.
• Identify opportunities for data-driven innovation to improve yields, efficiency, and sustainability.
• Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security across analytical processes.
