Placements24 is seeking a Remote Insurance Actuarial Analyst to support pricing, reserving and forecasting from Bloemfontein. You will develop and maintain actuarial models and collaborate with underwriting, product development and finance.

Requires at least 5 years’ experience, progress toward FSA/ACAS, proficiency in R, Python or SAS, and a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science or related field. This is a fully remote role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years as an Actuarial Analyst in insurance.
• Progress towards or completion of actuarial exams (e.g., FSA, ACAS).
• Strong proficiency in statistical software and advanced modeling techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and financial projections.
• Analyze statistical data to assess risk and determine premiums.
• Conduct profitability studies and provide insights into portfolio performance.
• Prepare actuarial reports and present findings to management and regulators.
• Collaborate with underwriting, product development, and finance teams.
