Placements24 on behalf of a leading insurer seeks a highly analytical and motivated Remote Actuarial Analyst to join the actuarial team. The role focuses on analyzing financial risks, pricing insurance products, and ensuring financial soundness of offerings from a fully remote location within South Africa.

You will collaborate with senior actuaries and data scientists to develop models, perform projections, and deliver insights for strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative field.
• Progress towards actuarial examinations (Actuarial Society of South Africa) is essential.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Proficiency in statistical software, programming languages (R, Python), and data manipulation tools.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, implementation, and validation of actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and financial forecasting.
