Job summary

Santam seeks a Relationship Manager based in Johannesburg to retain and grow broker portfolios through proactive relationship management with intermediaries and internal partners. You will promote new business and maintain existing relationships, ensuring service excellence.

In this role you will support the regional sales strategy, build strong broker networks, analyze performance, and drive profitability of allocated portfolios.

Qualifications

  • Matric qualification required.
  • Insurance qualification NQF5.
  • FAIS compliance required.
  • Regulatory exam compliance required.
  • 10 years personal lines in an operational environment with large broker portfolio responsibility.
  • Commercial experience advantageous.
  • Experience in maintaining and growing a profitable personal lines portfolio.
  • Sales experience in short-term insurance with focus on personal lines.

Responsibilities

  • Support region sales strategy and plan.
  • Establish and manage broker relationships.
  • Grow and profitability of allocated broker portfolio.
  • Work with brokers to develop a business plan to grow business.
  • Identify new potential brokers and opportunities for growth.
  • Be aware of competition and market information.
  • Facilitate the sales process and ensure brokers use correct channels.
  • Facilitate sale of quotes.
  • Monthly analysis of figures down to broker level.
  • Report at weekly sales meetings and bi-weekly team meetings.
  • People management (service consultant).

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE?

The Relationship Manager will be responsible for the retention and profitable growth of allocated broker portfolios through developing and management of strong relationships with intermediaries and internal business partners. Promoting new and maintaining existing business by serving as a proactive relationship manager for assigned accounts.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
  • Supporting Santam sales strategy & business plan in line with the region’s targets
  • Establish and manage strong relationships with brokers including business managers
  • Growth and profitability of allocated broker portfolio
  • Work with brokers in developing a business plan to grow business
  • Assist in identifying new potential brokers and opportunities for business growth
  • Awareness of competition and market information
  • Facilitate the sales process and ensure that brokers deal with correct channels
  • Facilitate sale of quotes
  • Monthly analysis of figures down to broker level
  • Report at weekly sales meetings and bi-weekly Team meetings
  • People management (service consultant)
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Matric Qualification
  • Insurance related qualification NQF level 5
  • FAIS Compliant
  • Regulatory exam compliance
  • Minimum 10 years personal lines in an Operational environment involving responsibility of a large portfolio of broker business
  • Commercial experience advantageous
  • Good Operational experience regarding personal lines business
  • Sales experience in the short-term insurance sector with focus on personal lines business
  • Experience in maintaining and growing a profitable portfolio of personal insurance- commercial experience advantageous
