Job summary

Express Employment Professionals (Vaal) is seeking a Registered Nurse with Trauma/ICU experience to join Life Groenkloof Hospital. The nurse will report to the Unit Manager in the Trauma Unit and ensure quality patient care across shifts.

The role requires trauma/ICU exposure, SANC registration, and the ability to work under pressure in a dynamic hospital environment with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Must have experience working in a Trauma/ICU.
• Registered with SANC.

Responsibilities

• Conduct basic duties as allocated by the Unit Manager.
• Ensure the unit is run according to acceptable legal standards.
• Maintain excellent patient and customer care per hospital standards.
• Maintain sound relationships and communication with patients, relatives and the multi-disciplinary team.
• Build professional relationships with doctors and therapists to promote patient-doctor interaction.
• Maintain all Health, Safety and Infection Control Standards.
• Assist the Unit Manager to manage the unit's budget and stock/financials.

Job description

A Vacancy exists for a Registered Nurse Trauma Experienced, based at Life Groenkloof Hospital , reporting to the Unit Manager in the Trauma Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of quality patient care.

Critical Outputs

• Conduct basic duties as allocated by the Unit Manager.
• Ensuring that unit is run according to acceptable legal standards.
• Maintaining excellent patient and customer care in accordance with Hospital's standards
• Maintaining sound relationships and communication with patients, relatives and the multi- disciplinary team.
• Building professional relationships with doctors and therapists to promote patient-doctor interaction.
• Maintaining all Health, Safety and Infection Control Standards.
• Assist the Unit Manager to manage the unit's budget, incl. control and maintenance of equipment, pharmacy stock, under / over recovery, stock holding, and gross profit margins and debtor's days.
• Assist with the effective management of the Ward Management System and CBT.

Requirements

• General Nursing Degree / Diploma
• Must have experience working in a Trauma/ICU
• Registered with SANC.
• Competencies required: Strong customer orientation, team player, very energetic, well organized.
• Must be able to work under pressure in a constantly changing environment.
• Strong inter-personal skills required.
• Must be willing to fulfil a role in the ward according to the flexi-hours system.
• Previous experience working within a Trauma Unit a prerequisite.
• Ability to work Flexi hours and willing to fulfill the requirements of the hospital.
