Key Performance Areas:
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Trauma Unit.
- Provide effective clinical leadership and support to nursing staff.
- Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred trauma care.
- Monitor and maintain clinical standards and best practices within the unit.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and relevant healthcare legislation.
- Manage staff performance, development, and competency within the unit.
- Assist with staff scheduling, rostering, and effective resource allocation.
- Monitor and manage stock, equipment, and other unit resources.
- Ensure accurate clinical documentation and reporting.
- Monitor patient outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Promote infection prevention and control standards within the unit.
- Participate in audits, risk management, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Identify and manage clinical risks and implement appropriate corrective measures.
- Manage and investigate incidents and ensure appropriate follow-up.
- Collaborate with doctors, multidisciplinary teams, and hospital management.
- Provide ongoing mentorship, guidance, and training to nursing staff.
- Ensure compliance with professional nursing standards and SANC requirements.
- Promote a positive, professional, and patient-focused working environment.
Requirements:
- Degree in Nursing Admin and Education / Management (Essential).
- Degree/diploma in General Nursing (Essential).
- Post Basic Diploma in Trauma/Emergency Nursing (Essential).
- Previous Unit Manager experience (Preferred).
- 3–5 years’ experience in Trauma Nursing (Essential).
- SANC Registered (Essential).
