Job summary

Direct Hire in Cape Town is seeking a Regional Route Planner (Fixed Term Contractor FTC) to oversee daily route planning, monitor performance, and ensure cost-effective, compliant routing. The role collaborates with Finance Business Partner, Logistics Manager, and IT to integrate new business, validate planned vs actual operations, and drive process improvements.

Requirements include 4 years in logistical optimization (2 years coordinating resources), a degree or diploma in SCM/Logistics, Grade

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience using route planning software and systems, including 1 year coordinating resources.
• Experience in logistical optimisation and planning, with exposure to cost considerations.
• Lean/Kaizen principles knowledge or experience is advantageous.
• Bachelor’s degree or 3-year diploma in Supply Chain Management or Logistics.
• MS Office proficiency (Advanced)

Responsibilities

• Plan daily routes and assess viability in line with costings.
• Monitor and report route effectiveness using relevant systems.
• Coordinate with IT and SBV Support for data availability and workflow.
• Integrate new business, mergers and outsourcing into existing routes.
• Provide reports and support for change initiatives and ESG reporting.
