About the Role

Our client, WhatJobs Direct, is seeking a visionary Regional Operations Director to spearhead supply chain optimization and management across its key operational hubs, with a primary focus on the Tembisa, Gauteng region. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all aspects of the regional supply chain, including procurement, logistics, warehousing, and distribution.
• Develop and implement innovative supply chain strategies to improve efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimize costs.
• Establish strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and third-party logistics providers to ensure optimal service delivery.
• Manage inventory levels effectively to meet demand while minimizing holding costs and obsolescence.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.
• Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supply chain performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and ethical practices.
• Analyze market trends and technological advancements to identify opportunities for supply chain innovation.
• Collaborate with other departments to forecast demand and align supply chain operations with business objectives.
• Resolve operational issues and implement corrective actions promptly.

Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management and logistics, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven experience in optimizing complex supply chain networks and implementing successful cost-saving initiatives.
• Demonstrated expertise in inventory management, warehousing, and transportation.
• Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and vendor management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Proficiency in supply chain management software and ERP systems.
• A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is required; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
• Experience working within the Tembisa or surrounding Gauteng industrial areas is highly beneficial.
