Job summary

The Building Company is seeking a Regional Procurement Specialist to develop and execute procurement strategies across the region, aligning with the National Procurement framework and budgets. You will negotiate with suppliers, collaborate with category managers, manage stock levels, maintain stock file integrity, and drive regional promotions while upholding company values.

You will liaise with store managers, buyers and internal teams to optimise supply chain performance and ensure market

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (essential)
• NQF6 qualification in Retail/Procurement (desirable)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position in a computerised retail environment (essential)
• Experience gained at a middle management level (essential)

Responsibilities

• Procurement activity within the Region - Create and execute Regional Procurement strategies in line with the Group Procurement Strategy and budgets and business objectives
• Liaise with Category Managers and Product Specialists – collaborate to execute category strategies, optimise opportunities, and resolve supply chain issues
• Supplier Negotiations - Negotiate base prices, regional deals, forward orders, and KVI pricing
• Maintain Stakeholder relationships - liaise with supplier network and internal stakeholders to manage expectations and facilitate delivery
• Facilitate listing process of Regional Suppliers – ensure procedures followed in listing all Regional Suppliers
• Product Training - organise and coordinate product and supplier service training and related initiatives
• Store Stock levels – manage and implement strategies for stock levels and SOPs/Best Practices
• Ensure Stock File Integrity - maintain stock file integrity
• Manage Procurement Procedures – ensure regional merchandising portfolio compliance
• Market Intelligence gathering – assess business competitiveness
• Manage regional promotions – plan, co-ordinate and execute promotions
• To uphold and promote the company values and culture

Job Description

• Procurement activity within the Region - To create and execute Regional Procurement strategies in line with the Group Procurement Strategy and budgets and business objectives
• Liaise with Category Managers and Product Specialists – To collaborate with Category Managers and Product Specialists to ensure execution of category strategies, optimise opportunities, and resolve and improve supply chain issues

Job Requirements

• Grade 12(essential)
