You will be responsible for managing your routes, maintaining the assigned vehicle, and providing professional service at all points of delivery and pick-up. Key Responsibilities

• Operate commercial vehicles (medium to heavy-duty trucks) for regional freight transport.
• Plan and execute daily delivery and pick-up routes efficiently, ensuring adherence to schedules.
• Conduct comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting findings.
• Safely load and unload freight, ensuring proper handling and securing of all cargo.
• Maintain accurate shipping documents, delivery manifests, and proof of delivery records.
• Communicate effectively with the dispatch team and clients regarding shipment status and any potential issues.
• Adhere strictly to all South African road traffic laws and company safety policies.
• Maintain the cleanliness and operational readiness of the assigned vehicle.
• Provide courteous and professional service to all customers and stakeholders.
• Report any vehicle malfunctions or delivery discrepancies promptly.

Requirements

• Valid Professional Driver's License (Code 10 or Code 14) with a spotless driving record.
• A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in freight transportation or a similar driving role.
• In-depth knowledge of the road network in and around Randburg, Gauteng , and the wider Gauteng province.
• Proven ability to operate large commercial vehicles safely and competently.
• Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and fleet management software is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of cargo safety regulations and securement techniques.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to perform physical duties related to loading and unloading.
• Good communication skills and a professional demeanor.
