About the Role

Our client, a well-established distribution company with extensive operations across Randburg, Gauteng , is seeking a professional and dependable Commercial Truck Driver. This role is fundamental to ensuring the timely and safe delivery of goods to various business clients throughout the Gauteng province. The successful candidate will operate heavy-duty trucks, maintain a clean driving record, and uphold the company's commitment to excellent customer service and operational integrity. We are looking for an experienced driver who understands the demands of urban and regional logistics and can represent our client professionally on the road.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate commercial trucks (e.g., rigid and articulated vehicles) for the transportation of goods.


• Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.


• Perform daily inspections of the truck, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and fluid levels to ensure roadworthiness.


• Maintain accurate driving logs, delivery records, and fuel consumption reports.


• Plan daily routes to ensure efficient delivery schedules, adapting to traffic and logistical challenges in Randburg and surrounding areas.


• Ensure secure loading and unloading of cargo, verifying correct documentation for each delivery.


• Provide professional customer service to clients during delivery and pick-up operations.


• Report any vehicle malfunctions or accidents immediately to the fleet manager or supervisor.


• Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the truck cab and cargo area.


• Assist with warehouse duties as needed, such as sorting and organizing stock.

Requirements

• Valid Code 14 driver's license with a valid professional driving permit (PDP).
