Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Delivery Manager to lead regional delivery operations in Upington, Northern Cape. You will oversee a fleet, supervise drivers, and optimize routes to ensure timely, cost-effective orders with high customer service standards.

The role requires proven logistics leadership, strong fleet management and route-planning skills, and familiarity with Upington and surrounding areas. A valid driver’s license (Code 10+) is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Delivery Manager, Fleet Manager, or similar role in a logistics or distribution environment.
• Strong knowledge of fleet management, route planning software, and delivery logistics.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage a team effectively and drive performance.
• Familiarity with the Upington region and surrounding delivery areas.
• A valid driver's license is required; Code 10 or higher is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the regional delivery operations, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.
• Manage a team of delivery drivers, including scheduling, performance monitoring, and training.
• Optimize delivery routes and schedules to maximize efficiency, minimize transit times, and control fuel costs.
• Ensure all delivery vehicles are maintained in excellent condition and comply with safety and regulatory standards.
• Implement and enforce company policies and procedures related to delivery operations and customer service.
• Monitor delivery performance metrics and implement corrective actions to address any shortcomings.
