Job summary

Craven Cottage CC in Stellenbosch is seeking a Senior Sales & Marketing Leader to drive national sales execution, oversee distributor performance and lead brand activation across local and export markets.

The role requires a decade of sales/marketing experience, strong financial acumen and a proven ability to manage multiple wine brands within a group structure. You will mentor teams, optimize budgets and foster excellent trade relationships.

Qualifications

• Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration or a related field.
• WSET Level 2 or higher advantageous.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in a sales and/or marketing role, with a strong emphasis on sales execution.
• Experience managing multiple brands or working within a group structure.
• Experience in key account management and trade relationship building.
• Wine industry experience advantageous.
• Commercially minded, with strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
• Self-driven, proactive and results oriented.
• Strong communicator, negotiator and relationship manager.
• Able to work independently as well as lead and collaborate within a team.

Responsibilities

• Drive national sales execution to meet or exceed targets across regional brands, overseeing stock, displays and distributor performance.
• Build and strengthen relationships with distributors, retailers and trade partners, focusing on growing local volumes and supporting international key accounts.
• Write and activate annual marketing plans with a consistent brand presence across in-store, digital and trade channels.
• Monitor market trends and consumer behaviour, feeding insights into brand and sales strategy.
• Lead, train and coach Marketing and Sales teams, set targets, and foster a delivery-focused culture.
• Compile and manage regional sales and marketing budgets, directing spend to high-impact activities and tracking ROI.
• Collaborate across winemaking, finance, operations and the wider commercial team, representing brands at trade events and ensuring service excellence.
