Job summary

South African National Blood Service (SANBS) invites applications for a Refrigeration technician responsible for maintenance, repairs and installation of refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment and for responding to emergency calls across SANBS sites.

The role requires 5 years’ post-qualification experience in refrigeration and air-conditioning, a Grade 12, a valid Driver’s License, and a Refrigeration trade test; a Diploma in Refrigeration would be advantageous.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ post qualification experience in refrigeration and airconditioning.
• Understanding of SANS legislation regarding HVAC&R industry.
• Knowledge of SHEQ regulations and legislation in the work area.
• Driver’s License.
• Passed trade test Refrigeration.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, repairs and installs refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment.
• Responds to emergency calls for SANBS sites.
• Performs repairs and testing of equipment.
• Conducts routine checks of refrigeration installations and equipment.
• Travels to various sites for planned and corrective maintenance.

An opportunity has become available for a Refrigeration technician. The incumbent will be responsible for the maintenance, repairs and installation of all refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment respond to emergency calls for both SANBS

Experience and knowledge requirements

Special Requirements:

Overtime as and when required and travelling when necessary.

Performing on call duties on a roster basis.
