Job summary

The President Hotel in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Facilities Technician with a recognised Red Seal Trade Test certification and 2–4 years of relevant experience to maintain HVAC, refrigeration, electrical and plumbing systems across the property.

This multi-skilled role requires fault-finding, preventative maintenance and the ability to work in guest areas, public spaces and back‑of‑house areas, ensuring safety, reliability and high standards for our guests.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Trade Test certification is essential.
• Background in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Refrigeration or Plumbing.
• 2–4 years in facilities or building maintenance.
• Experience in hotel or commercial property environment is essential.
• Ability to read technical diagrams and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out day-to-day facilities maintenance, repairs and fault-finding.
• Maintaining guest rooms, public areas, restaurants and conference facilities.
• Inspecting, servicing and repairing HVAC, air-conditioning and refrigeration systems.
• Attending to plumbing faults, leaks and drainage issues.
• Carrying out electrical maintenance and fault-finding within scope.
• Completing general building maintenance and repairs to fixtures and fittings.
